Wayne Rooney expressed that it would be a “no-brainer” for him to return to Manchester United as a coach if Michael Carrick is appointed as caretaker manager and offers him a position on his staff.
The former United forward stated, “The club has lost its identity and that familial atmosphere. Whether it’s Ole [Ole Gunnar Solskjaer] or Michael, this is an opportunity to restore that sense of belonging and reinvigorate the spirit of Manchester United.”

When asked about joining Carrick’s coaching team, Rooney replied, “Absolutely. It’s a no-brainer. I’m not trying to beg for a job, just to clarify. If I was approached, I would definitely consider it. Appointing the right manager is crucial.”
“It’s essential to have people involved who truly understand the football club, whether that be Michael, Fletch [Darren Fletcher], John O’Shea, or myself. Having individuals who know the club, who care about it, and understand what it means to be a Manchester United player is vital for the club’s future.”
