According to a report from Foot Mercato, a Serie A team has finalized an agreement with Olympique de Marseille to acquire young striker Robinio Vaz (18) for a fee of €20 million plus add-ons. The player’s future at Marseille had been in doubt after he allegedly declined an offer to extend his contract with the club.
Reports indicate that AS Roma director Fredereic Massara met with Vaz in France yesterday, as both sides move closer to finalizing personal terms. However, Foot Mercato has mentioned this morning that the 18-year-old is expected to travel to Rome in the next few hours to complete the deal and undergo a medical examination. The arrangement is said to be structured as a loan with a mandatory purchase option, bringing the total estimated value of the deal to around €25 million including bonuses.

Robinio Vaz seemed to confirm his imminent exit from Olympique de Marseille after posting—and later deleting—a farewell message to fans on Instagram.
Vaz had a solid first half of the season, scoring four goals and providing two assists in 14 Ligue 1 matches. However, his position became more precarious due to competition from Amine Gouiri and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. He reportedly turned down a contract extension offer worth €850,000 gross per year.
