Manchester City is urgently seeking defensive reinforcements ahead of the winter transfer window.

With Josko Gvardiol, Ruben Dias, and John Stones all sidelined due to injuries, the team finds itself significantly lacking in defensive options.

According to journalist Miguel Delaney, Manchester City is keen on acquiring Crystal Palace’s centre-back Marc Guehi during this window.

The 25-year-old had initially intended to wait until the summer when he would have more options available.

Clubs such as Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Arsenal, and Liverpool are all reportedly interested in the England international.

However, City is committed to facilitating a transfer this winter. They are working to convince both Guehi and Palace to reach an agreement and are ready to match competing offers.

Guehi nearly joined Liverpool last summer, only for Crystal Palace to block the move on deadline day.

It remains uncertain if Palace will allow a transfer this month or if they will prefer to let him depart for free at the conclusion of his contract in June.

The defender has started 25 Premier League matches this season, contributing directly to five goals.

His weekend took a turn as Crystal Palace suffered a shocking 2-1 defeat to sixth-tier Macclesfield in what has been labelled one of the FA Cup’s greatest upsets.

After the final whistle, he found himself in a heated exchange with the traveling fans.
