Bristol City Welcomes Hungarian International Goalkeeper Lauren Brzykcy on a Two-and-a-Half-Year Contract

The Robins announced the signing through a post on their official club website this afternoon.

In a notable move, the 25-year-old goalkeeper joins Bristol City after her tenure with Piteå IF in Sweden’s OBOS Damallsvenskan.

Brzykcy made a name for herself during her college years at UCLA Bruins before transitioning to the professional circuit with San Diego Wave, where she celebrated winning the NWSL Shield in 2023. Following her time in the U.S., she made the switch to Sweden, playing for Vittsjö before signing with Piteå IF last year.

On the international front, Brzykcy began her career representing the United States at the youth level before pledging her loyalty to Hungary. Over the past 18 months, she has become a key player for the Hungarian national team.

With valuable experience under her belt, Brzykcy is poised to challenge herself in England for the first time as part of Bristol City.

After finalizing her move to Ashton Gate, Brzykcy expressed her enthusiasm: “I’m excited to join this fantastic club, and I look forward to getting started. Everything is moving in a positive direction, and I believe this is a great step for me.”

Brzykcy will be ready for selection for Bristol City once the necessary international clearance has been obtained.
