Rohl foresees final day…

Rangers manager Danny Rohl suggests that the SPFL might want to consider booking a helicopter for the final round of Premiership fixtures if his predictions hold true.

According to Rohl, the title race is so closely contested that it could come down to the last day of the season. He believes that a successful transfer window will be crucial in this chase.

With 16 matches remaining, Hearts currently hold a six-point lead over both Celtic and Rangers.

“We discussed our pre-season plans yesterday,” Rohl noted. “We had meetings about training camps and friendly matches. I expressed my belief that, on the final matchday, we might see a contest involving three teams. Any of us could finish in first, second, or third place.”

“It’s exciting for the fans, and we need to be well-prepared,” he added.

The Ibrox side notably clinched the title in 2005, edging Celtic on the last day by defeating Hibs while Celtic fell to Motherwell in the infamous “Helicopter Sunday” when a chartered helicopter diverted to the capital as Celtic conceded two late goals at Fir Park.

This competitive finish has not occurred since 2011, when Rangers again emerged victorious.

Unlike those previous duels between just the Old Firm, this time Hearts are also in contention.

To gain an advantage over their rivals, Rohl emphasizes the importance of the current transfer window.

“In recent weeks, we’ve clearly outlined what we want to accomplish,” he stated. “That’s a positive step forward. Now, we’ll see what opportunities arise in the market.”

So far, Rangers have signed Belgian defender Tuur Rommens and Danish midfielder Tochi Chukwuani.

A deal for Danish international Andreas Skov Olsen seems imminent, and Rohl is eager for the winger to rediscover the form that earned him a move from Club Brugge to Wolfsburg.

However, the Rangers manager is not finished yet.

“We need to keep going,” he emphasized. “We’re looking to strengthen our squad to be highly competitive in the second half of the season. While I can’t specify a number, we are still targeting several positions.”

Another midfielder is particularly important, as Connor Barron may be sidelined for up to three months.

Although Rangers faced considerable criticism for their summer signings, Rohl believes improvements have been made under consultant Stig Inge Bjornebye and chairman Andrew Cavanagh.

“Andrew has been incredibly supportive and proactive, which I appreciate,” Rohl explained. “We have a clear vision of what we want.”

“I provide my opinions and recommendations, and then the recruitment team shares theirs. We come together to review videos and data, making calls to assess the players’ character before determining if a deal is feasible.”

“Right now, we feel very confident because we’re making strong decisions. We’re not just talking; we’re taking action.”
