National League
York City 1 – 1 Southend United (Full Time)
Ollie Pearce netted his 23rd goal of the season to help York City secure a 1-1 draw against Southend United, allowing them to regain the top position in the National League.
With just three minutes remaining, the league’s leading scorer converted a cross from substitute Jeff King, extending the Minstermen’s unbeaten streak to 15 matches.
Prior to the evening match, York had fallen to third place in the standings as promotion contenders Boreham Wood and Carlisle had both gained points earlier that day.
Harry Cardwell put seventh-placed Southend in front with a header in the 31st minute, but Stuart Maynard’s team fought back late to avoid their first league defeat since October.
