Match preview by Joe Prince-Wright

Brighton and Bournemouth faced off at the Amex, both harboring aspirations for European qualification.

Fabian Hurzeler’s Brighton secured a victory against Manchester United in the FA Cup last weekend, showing signs of a return to form after a tumultuous season. They went into this match three points clear of Bournemouth, with only one defeat in their last six games across all competitions.

Bournemouth, on the other hand, managed to shake off an 11-match winless streak with a much-needed victory over Tottenham Hotspur in their last Premier League outing, giving Andoni Iraola a sense of relief. They remain hopeful for European qualification but need to be more decisive in their attacking play.

Brighton team news

Injury concerns have lessened for Brighton, though they still lack Mats Wieffer, Adam Webster, Stefanos Tzimas, and Solly March. Yankuba Minteh is expected to be fit, while forwards Kaoru Mitoma, Danny Welbeck, and Georginio Rutter have been stepping up consistently. Hurzeler has a variety of options at his disposal.

Bournemouth team news

Andoni Iraola faces several injury issues with Justin Kluivert, Tyler Adams, Ben Gannon-Doak, Enes Unal, and Will Dennis all sidelined. David Brooks and Ryan Christie are also uncertain starters. After parting ways with Antoine Semenyo to Manchester City, Bournemouth needs their key players, including Evanilson, Eli Kroupi Junior, David Brooks, Amine Adli, and Marcus Tavernier, to elevate their performances moving forward.
