Michael Flynn, a former player and manager of Newport County, is set to be inducted into the club’s Hall of Fame.
The 45-year-old enjoyed four stints with Newport as a player from 1999 to 2018, with his final period coinciding with his role as manager.

Flynn made a significant mark while managing the Exiles, leading the team to safety in League Two in 2017, despite taking over as interim manager while the team was 11 points adrift in March.
This remarkable turnaround, often referred to as the ‘great escape’, culminated in a thrilling 2-1 victory over Notts County on the last day of the season, securing their place in the Football League.
Following this achievement, Flynn was appointed as the permanent manager on a two-year contract.
During his four years at the helm, Newport achieved several memorable cup victories against teams like Leeds United, Leicester City, Watford, and Middlesbrough, and they also drew with Tottenham Hotspur.

In addition, County pushed Newcastle United and Brighton and Hove Albion to penalty shootouts but fell short on both occasions.
Flynn also guided Newport to the League Two play-off final twice, in 2019 and 2021, yet they were narrowly defeated 1-0 in extra time in both matches.
He will be inducted into the Hall of Fame during Newport County’s League Two clash against Chesterfield at Rodney Parade on Saturday, January 24.
Flynn will be the first inductee since 2019, when former County manager Justin Edinburgh was honored.
