Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder addressed BBC Radio Sheffield after the team’s 1-0 loss to Southampton.
“We need to take some positives from that match, particularly in the second half,” he remarked. “Southampton started stronger and scored from a fortunate deflection, but in the final moments, we had the chances to potentially win 3-1.
“In the second half, we played better, won more battles, and controlled the game. Unfortunately, they capitalized on a deflection for their goal while we couldn’t convert our opportunities due to a lack of precision.
“Despite the disappointment of the defeat, I’m proud of the effort from the team. I want us to be more assertive and come away with points from games like this, and I genuinely believe we deserved something from it.”
