West Ham midfielder James Ward-Prowse has transferred to Premier League rivals Burnley on a loan deal that will last until the season concludes.
The 31-year-old joined West Ham from Southampton in August 2023, racking up 78 appearances since then.

The England international was previously loaned to Nottingham Forest during the 2024-25 season, where he made 10 appearances under the management of Nuno Espirito Santo, but that arrangement was cut short in the winter transfer window.
He had been a regular starter under former West Ham boss Graham Potter, featuring in six matches this season prior to Potter’s dismissal in September.
Since Nuno’s arrival at West Ham, Ward-Prowse has not seen any playing time.
Currently, Burnley finds itself in 19th place in the Premier League, 10 points adrift of safety following a 2-2 draw against Tottenham on Saturday. West Ham, sitting in 18th, is five points ahead of Burnley.

Burnley manager Scott Parker recently signed 18-year-old defender Cameron Scott from Rangers and has now strengthened the squad with the addition of Ward-Prowse.
“From the moment I learned of Burnley’s interest and had a conversation with the manager, I knew that this loan would be perfect for me,” said Ward-Prowse.
“There’s a significant challenge ahead until the end of the season, but I’m ready to embrace every moment.”
Ward-Prowse rose through Southampton’s academy and made a total of 410 appearances for the club before moving to West Ham.
