Aston Villa has confirmed the re-signing of Douglas Luiz, who returns on loan from Juventus.
The 27-year-old midfielder left Villa in the summer of 2024 for a transfer fee of £42.5 million but spent the initial part of this season on loan at Nottingham Forest.

During his previous tenure at Villa from 2019 to 2024, Luiz made 204 appearances, but his time at Forest has seen him limited to just eight Premier League matches this season due to a thigh injury.
Villa manager Unai Emery is looking to strengthen his midfield, particularly with captain John McGinn sidelined for up to two months with a knee injury and Boubacar Kamara likely out for the remainder of the season due to a similar issue.
Additionally, fellow midfielder Youri Tielemans is expected to face a spell on the sidelines after picking up an injury during the match against Newcastle on Sunday.
