Tsimikas Addresses…

Kostas Tsimikas has expressed his strong commitment to AS Roma, despite circulating rumors about a potential return to Liverpool in January.

The Greek left-back joined Roma on a season-long loan from Liverpool, the reigning Premier League champions, over the summer. However, he has faced challenges in securing consistent playing time at the Stadio Olimpico.

Known as the ‘Greek Scouser’, Tsimikas has appeared in 11 Serie A matches this season, accumulating only 380 minutes on the pitch, having started just three league games thus far. This comes even as regular left wing-back Angelino has been sidelined for a significant portion of the current campaign.

Recent reports have suggested that Tsimikas might return to Liverpool sooner than anticipated, particularly if Andrew Robertson were to leave Anfield this month. However, updates in the last few days reveal that neither player is expected to leave their clubs before the transfer window closes.

Tsimikas speaks on Liverpool return rumors

Tsimikas took the opportunity to address the ongoing speculation during his pre-match press conference ahead of Roma’s Europa League clash against Panathinaikos in Greece.

“Every time the coach gives me a chance, I strive to present the best version of myself,” Tsimikas told the media (via TMW). “I’m focused on evolving as a player, and I believe I have much more to offer. This remains my objective.”

When asked about the possibility of returning to Liverpool early, Tsimikas stated, “I’m very focused on my team. I want to contribute to this group and develop as a player. There are many rumors circulating, but it’s best to tune them out and focus on giving my best when I’m called upon.

“My primary goal is this: I am here to showcase my talents.”

Looking ahead to the upcoming match for Roma, he added: “The fans in Greece are incredibly supportive, and they energize the players. We are determined to focus on our performance and aim to win to improve our standing. Our mission here is clear: we are here to win.”
