HLN reports that Sint Truiden is poised to acquire Joedrick Pupe from Vancouver Whitecaps. Initially, the former Dender defender was on track to return to Belgium with Kortrijk, but upon learning of Sint Truiden’s interest, he opted to cancel that deal. Rather than joining Kortrijk in Belgium’s second tier, Pupe will team up with Sint Truiden, who are currently ranked second in the Pro League.
Pupe, 28, left Dender after two seasons to sign with Vancouver Whitecaps. However, he made only two appearances for the team, highlighting his desire to return to Belgian football. In light of losing Rein Van Helden to Antwerp, Sint Truiden clearly saw the need for defensive reinforcements. Pupe played a key role in Dender’s promotion during the 2023/2024 season and went on to make 29 appearances in the top tier last season, contributing five assists.
