Marlon Irlbacher has reported that Borussia Mönchengladbach has finalized a €1 million transfer to Cercle Brugge for the midfield talent Charles Herrmann. Earlier today, rumors of a possible developmental loan deal involving Herrmann, a protégé of current BMG head coach Eugen Polanski, began to emerge. However, it seems a different arrangement is now on the table.
Cercle Brugge keen on acquiring Charles Herrmann
Irlbacher states that both clubs, from the Bundesliga and the Belgian Pro League, are negotiating the final terms, which are expected to include a bonus structure benefiting the Westphalian team. The base transfer fee aligns with Herrmann’s current market valuation.

Herrmann made an impressive debut this season, providing an assist just six minutes into his first Bundesliga appearance. However, the 20-year-old has not seen any further action in the league since that match.
Moving to Belgium should offer the Hannover native and Germany U20 international an excellent chance to gain valuable playing time. Before joining Gladbach in the summer of 2024, Herrmann honed his skills at the academies of Hannover 96 and Borussia Dortmund.
