West Hams Loan Bid for…

West Ham’s loan bid for Southampton defender Taylor Harwood-Bellis has been turned down. The 24-year-old centre-back is reportedly interested in the move, but Southampton is keen to retain him unless their terms are significantly improved.

Harwood-Bellis has been a consistent presence in Southampton’s defense, starting in each of their last 17 league matches. He earned his sole England cap in November 2024. The defender joined Southampton on loan in 2023, played a crucial role in the team’s promotion to the Premier League, and subsequently made a permanent move from Manchester City for £20 million, although the team was relegated in 2025.

Despite securing two recent league victories, West Ham remains in a relegation battle and is looking to bolster their defense. They have also considered a loan for Chelsea’s Axel Disasi. The 27-year-old is currently not in Chelsea’s plans, but the club prefers to sell him permanently rather than loan him out at this time.

Roma and Lyon have shown interest in the French defender earlier in the transfer window. West Ham currently sits in 18th place in the Premier League and will face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
