Kante Revives Deal to Join…

Fenerbahce has officially announced the acquisition of French midfielder N’Golo Kante from Al-Ittihad in the Saudi Pro League.

On Tuesday, it seemed that Kante’s chances of joining the Turkish team had diminished when Fenerbahce released a statement attributing the setback to Al-Ittihad.

According to Fenerbahce, the transfer fell through because Al-Ittihad did not submit the required documentation, which included Moroccan striker Youssef En-Nesyri moving the other way.

However, the club confirmed on Wednesday that the problem had been resolved, and Kante, a former Chelsea star, has now joined the squad after spending two and a half years in Saudi Arabia.

The 34-year-old midfielder joined Al-Ittihad in 2023 after a successful stint with Chelsea, where he won the Champions League, Premier League, Europa League, and FA Cup.

Kante made the switch to Chelsea from Leicester City in 2016, having played a pivotal role in leading the Foxes to their Premier League title win the previous season.

Meanwhile, En-Nesyri, 28, will fill the void left by former Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema, who recently transferred to Saudi Pro League rivals Al-Hilal.
