Spurs manager Martin Ho expresses his excitement for “the games you want to be part of” as he gears up for his debut match at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday against rivals Chelsea.

With Tottenham just one point behind the reigning Women’s Super League champions in the battle for Champions League spots, Ho is optimistic about drawing a large crowd to motivate his players toward victory.

“Playing in the stadium is monumental for us, the club, and the fans,” he stated. “It’s my first match there as head coach, and we know we need to deliver our best performance.”

“We want the supporters to create a lively atmosphere, making it a challenging environment for our opponents. The fans have the power to uplift the team and showcase our true potential.”

Like many other WSL clubs, Tottenham typically plays its home games at a smaller venue, Leyton Orient’s Brisbane Road, and Ho acknowledges that developing a fanbase large enough to make stadium games viable will take time.

“In my view, this is the best stadium in world football—it’s iconic and authentic,” he said. “It’s a significant opportunity for us.”

“The board is supportive of us playing here, but to cultivate a fanbase, we need to be consistently performing at a level that generates excitement. While everyone wishes for a sold-out stadium, it requires entertainment and time to achieve that.”

“It’s my responsibility to inspire and energize the players. To attract fans, they must wear the badge with pride and play passionately to forge a connection.”

“If we deliver strong performances, we will likely draw the crowds we aspire to.”
