Napoli fans have expressed their anger and thrown insults following Lorenzo Lucca’s Instagram post that appeared to taunt them after scoring his first goal for Nottingham Forest.
The Italian forward had a challenging initial six months at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, netting only two goals in 23 competitive matches.

Given that he cost €35 million from Udinese, his performance was underwhelming. After falling down the lineup, he was loaned to Nottingham Forest with an option to buy for the same fee.
Lucca scored on his debut for Nottingham Forest in a 3-1 loss to Leeds United and celebrated with an Instagram post that sparked a wave of reactions.

“Forgive them, for they do not know,” he wrote in English, a comment interpreted as a jab at his critics back in Italy, which led to a strong backlash from Napoli supporters.
Many remarked, “This is why things didn’t work out at Napoli,” while another retorted with, “You only scored a consolation goal” and “You’ve posted more on Instagram than scored in the last four months.”

Seemingly enjoying the controversy, Lucca liked several of the insulting comments posted by Napoli fans, who predominantly responded with sarcasm, wishing him more goals to encourage Nottingham Forest to make his transfer permanent.
