Davison secures new deal…

Prop Trevor Davison has signed a new multi-year contract with Northampton Saints, who currently lead the Premiership.

The 33-year-old, who has earned four caps for England, has made 64 appearances for the Saints since joining the club from Newcastle in 2023.

Davison is among 14 players who have recently committed to the club beyond this season, with fly-half Anthony Belleau, who signed on Tuesday.

“Being here has significantly improved my game,” Davison shared with the club’s website.

“The coaching staff have really challenged me, the training standards are exceptional, and the camaraderie among the players helps elevate each other’s performance.”

“I believe my game has progressed since joining Northampton, and that has contributed to earning another chance with England.”

Davison made his international debut against the USA in 2021 and faced the same team again last summer after being recalled.

The Saints will face Harlequins in the Premiership Rugby Cup this Friday, with at least two more matches in the competition ahead of their league return at home against Newcastle on March 21.

“Trev is a key leader in our squad and a role model for our younger players,” said director of rugby Phil Dowson.

“Props like Trev are rare assets. While his set-piece skills are well known, his contributions in open play—with his carrying and defensive movements—are equally vital.

“He has made significant improvements in those areas, and considering he started his professional career later than most, he still has the potential for further growth.”
