Ramsay: West Brom Aiming…

West Bromwich Albion plans to use their FA Cup fourth-round match against Norwich City on Saturday as an opportunity to bolster their squad depth, according to head coach Eric Ramsay.

The Baggies will miss defenders George Campbell (injury) and Nat Phillips (concussion) for the trip to Carrow Road, while midfielder Jed Wallace will be given a rest.

“We’re looking at the day as a chance to start building some depth in the squad. I have no concerns about our lineup for tomorrow,” Ramsay shared with BBC Radio WM.

“I’m confident in our backline, but our depth is an issue as we approach a busy schedule next week. All decisions will be made with this in consideration.”

Since Ramsay took over from Ryan Mason as head coach, West Brom has recorded three losses and three draws in the Championship, including a 5-0 defeat to Norwich at home. However, the manager insists that past results won’t affect their mentality, even with a likely reshaped squad on Saturday.

“We view these matches as opportunities to win, to perform, and for players to prove they deserve to be selected,” he added.

“Every year, there are numerous examples of players using this competition as a springboard into the first team. We have a few individuals who have been part of the squad and some who have been on loan, eager for their chance.”
