Martin O’Neill feels refreshed by his unexpected return to management at Celtic this season.
The 73-year-old club icon initially stepped in as interim manager in October after Brendan Rodgers’ departure and returned again following Wilfried Nancy’s disappointing stint.

As O’Neill gears up for his 300th match in charge on Sunday, he shared with the club’s official podcast: “While the players see benefits, it’s also very rewarding for me.”
“This is a unique opportunity that I want to embrace, as it’s unlikely to come around again. I intend to enjoy it. I’m not entirely sure if I enjoy management, but I do relish winning. Losing, however, makes things less enjoyable.”
“I love wearing a tracksuit, heading out to watch young talents showcase their skills, and engaging with them.”
Celtic is currently in the midst of a busy schedule. After Sunday’s match at Rugby Park, they will host Stuttgart for the first leg of the Europa League knockout-round play-off.

“What was the point of having a fantastic performance against Feyenoord and fighting hard against Bologna if we aren’t going to follow through and secure qualification?” O’Neill remarked.
“I understand that these additional matches may pose challenges for us, but that’s why we’re bringing in more players.”
