Juventus captain Manuel Locatelli expressed that the Bianconeri players are ‘happy’ with Luciano Spalletti and his coaching methods. He also urged Andrea Cambiaso to ‘stay calm and perform well’ in light of recent fan criticism.
In a unique preview of Juventus’ upcoming match against Inter, Locatelli addressed the media, addressing the impact of coach Spalletti on the team.
Juventus and Inter have had a full week to get ready for this crucial clash, as both teams will return to European action next week in the Champions League knockout play-off.

“We’ve been able to refresh and prepare for tomorrow’s match; we feel ready,” Locatelli stated, as reported by Ilbianconero.com.
“We understand the significance of this match on multiple levels. We respect that Inter is a strong team with a great coach. They’ve had stability with their squad over time, and they possess a maturity that we’ve been lacking. There are tough matches that you must win. We need to maintain our personality and deliver an outstanding performance tomorrow.”
“Being the captain of Juventus is not only a dream come true but also a constant responsibility. I strive to remain humble and supportive of my teammates. A captain must lead by example, and I aim to do the same in my family life.”
Under Spalletti, Locatelli has become a vital player for Juventus, a development that seemed uncertain after he was left out of the Italy squad for the 2024 Euros.

“I heed the guidance of the club and the coach. I’m fit, and I appreciate the trust the coach has in me,” Locatelli remarked.
“We’re improving as a team, and I’m pleased with our progress. There’s always room for enhancement. The coach reminds us that we can get better, and it all begins with training. We are a young squad and may lack some maturity, but we are conscious of our talent.”
Juventus has witnessed a rise in the league table under Spalletti’s management, playing an exciting brand of football. However, Spalletti’s contract runs out in June, having taken over from Igor Tudor in October. Would Locatelli welcome an extension for the coach’s tenure beyond June?
“That decision isn’t mine to make; all I can say is that we’re very pleased with him and his approach,” Locatelli answered.
“He prefers not to be the center of attention. He even told me not to speak about him. What I can say is that we are very grateful for his presence.”
Andrea Cambiaso faced boos from Juventus supporters when he was substituted during their last two Serie A matches against Napoli and Lazio.
“I share a strong bond with Andrea; he’s a player who listens,” Locatelli acknowledged.
“He just needs to stay composed and keep working hard. He gives everything and holds nothing back. The true test will be on the field. He deserves to be here; he is talented and has character.”
Locatelli has reunited with Jeremie Boga, who joined Juventus from Nice in January.
“It’s wonderful to reconnect with him. We spent three key years together at Sassuolo,” said the Juventus midfielder.

“I believe he can be a valuable asset for us; he’s effective in one-on-one situations and can make a significant impact. The coach emphasized this during our time at Sassuolo; he needs to recognize his potential. I’m excited for him.”
Tomorrow, Locatelli will compete against some of his Italy teammates, notably Federico Dimarco, who has been one of Serie A’s standout players this season.
“I hold him in high regard, alongside the other Inter players I know well. He’s having a great season and truly deserves it. He faced his share of criticism, but he’s been answering back with his performances. Of course, I hope he doesn’t shine quite as bright tomorrow,” Locatelli concluded.
