Fulham manager Marco Silva addressed the media ahead of Sunday’s FA Cup fourth-round match against Championship team Stoke City (kick-off at 14:00 GMT).

Here are the main highlights from his press conference:

  • On injuries: “There are no new injury worries following the last match, and today’s training session went well. We’ll have another training session tomorrow before the game. However, Tom Cairney and Sasa Lukic will not be available.”

  • On Phil Foden’s potential red card incident in the match against Manchester City: “It’s not my place to comment on that situation at the moment.”

  • On Oscar Bobb’s potential starting spot: “He might start – we still need to evaluate. Today’s session was very positive for him, just like for the rest of the team. We need to make a decision tomorrow, but he has a good chance.”

  • On the significance of cup competitions: “I prefer to show our intentions through performance rather than just words. Whenever we enter a tournament like this, we aim high. To reach the later stages, we need to be committed.”

  • Regarding Thomas Frank’s dismissal from Tottenham and its implications: “In our profession, results matter most. It’s always tough for coaches when they lose their jobs. Thomas is an excellent coach and a good person, but that’s just the nature of football. My choices, or decisions made by the club, don’t necessarily relate to others’ situations; every club is different.”

  • On Stoke City: “They’ve had a strong start in this competition. Currently, they’re in a good position for playoffs in the Championship and are performing well. Playing at their home ground is always challenging due to their passionate support. We must respect them as they have a talented squad that could pose significant challenges for us.”
