Portsmouth manager John Mousinho praised his team for delivering a “really strong performance” during their 3-1 victory against Charlton at The Valley on Tuesday evening.
“I’m thrilled with the outcome, and we paired it with an impressive performance,” Mousinho shared with BBC Radio Solent.

“If we omit the first minute where Nico made a crucial save—it’s easy to overlook that once you secure an essential away win. It was just a moment of defensive laxity, but it might have sharpened our focus.
“Following that, I felt we played excellently for 55 minutes, fully deserved our lead. In the second half, Charlton made three substitutions, which could have changed the game.
“However, we came out and rightfully added a third goal, and then things became a bit chaotic.
“We made a few unusual decisions afterward, which was uncharacteristic for us, but I’m really pleased that we managed to see the match out under challenging circumstances.”
