This summer, Barcelona intends to bolster their attacking options with the signing of a new striker, as they prepare for the departure of Robert Lewandowski, whose contract is set to expire. Over the past few months, several potential targets have emerged, including players from Lewandowski’s former club, Bayern Munich.
Harry Kane, widely regarded as one of the top strikers in the world, has been in impressive form since joining Bayern in the summer of 2023, amassing 126 goals in 131 appearances, with 41 of those coming in the current season.

Barcelona views Kane as a viable option. However, under the previous leadership of Joan Laporta, negotiations did not materialize. A shift in dynamics could occur with the upcoming presidential elections in March, with one of the candidates expressing his desire to pursue Kane.
Xavier Vilajoana took to X to clarify that, if elected, he plans to actively seek Kane’s acquisition.
“While nurturing our La Masia talents remains my top priority, we must also attract elite players. This can be achieved by resolving our financial issues and restoring the 1:1 financial rule. Securing a signing is critical for a forward-thinking Barcelona,” he stated.

Kane Available at an Attractive Price
Kane would be an exceptional acquisition for Barcelona, allowing them to maintain a reliable goal-scorer in their lineup. Opting for a younger replacement for Lewandowski could be risky, especially since Bayern Munich’s asking price is around €65m.
The outcome of this situation remains uncertain. If Vilajoana is not elected, the chances of Barcelona pursuing Kane diminish significantly. However, even if he is elected, the striker has shown no inclination to leave Bayern, where he has found happiness and stability.
