David Raum of RB Leipzig…

RB Leipzig captain David Raum expressed deep frustration over his team’s inability to maintain a two-goal lead against Borussia Dortmund during Saturday’s Bundesliga match. This season has been marked by disappointment for Raum and his teammates, as they have suffered three losses to Bayern Munich and managed only 12 wins in 23 league matches, leaving them out of the domestic cup and struggling to secure a Champions League spot.

Raum Urges for Greater Aggression from RB Leipzig

Raum is not the only one from a German club expressing discontent over a lack of intensity. Wolfsburg head coach Daniel Bauer has called for his players to intentionally commit more fouls following their team’s loss to Augsburg. Bauer pointed to the physical nature of the recent 1-1 draw between Hamburg and Mainz 05, arguing that players competing for crucial points must sometimes resort to tougher tactics.

Raum echoed these thoughts, emphasizing that with Leipzig’s aspirations for European competition at risk, the team cannot afford to be lenient against opponents. Although Dortmund only managed a 2-2 draw in the end, they had numerous opportunities that could have turned the match in their favor, especially late in the game due to the space allowed to their attackers.

I’m really disappointed, angry, and frustrated that we let the game slip away again,” Raum told Sky Germany. “This isn’t acceptable, and it’s not the first time. We need to be tougher and more ruthless. Everyone needs to reflect on their performance because if we play like we did toward the end today, our objectives are at stake.
