Bild has reported that Felix Magath is a potential candidate for a return to Wolfsburg, as discussions arise regarding the future of struggling head coach Daniel Bauer.
This past weekend, Wolfsburg fell to 15th place, sitting just above the relegation playoff zone. This decline has led to speculation over Bauer’s future, who was appointed as a temporary coach but was given a permanent role prior to the winter break.

With the team’s precarious position, there are talks about replacing him with a new head coach to ensure their safety.
Among the names mentioned are Dino Toppmöller, Thomas Reis, former Wolfsburg manager Dieter Hecking, and now Magath.
The 72-year-old’s last coaching stint saw him lead Hertha Berlin to safety through the relegation playoffs against Hamburg in 2022.
Magath’s Legacy at Wolfsburg:
Magath has a notable history with Wolfsburg, having managed the club twice with differing outcomes. His first tenure is particularly memorable, known for his demanding training methods. During this time, he guided Wolfsburg to their sole Bundesliga title, supported by stars like Edin Dzeko and Grafite.
He later returned to help the team escape relegation in his second term, a challenge he may once again need to tackle if he reclaims the role at Volkswagen Arena.
