Real Madrid to pay

Real Madrid clinched a 2-1 win against SL Benfica on Wednesday night, securing their spot in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16.

The victory was crucial for Alvaro Arbeloa and his team, especially after their recent defeat to Osasuna in La Liga.

The match was particularly significant for young midfielder Arda Guler, who made his 100th appearance for Real Madrid.

Real Madrid Pays €2 Million to Fenerbahce

According to AS, Guler’s milestone triggered a performance-related clause in his transfer agreement with Fenerbahce, resulting in an additional €2 million payment to the Turkish club.

Fenerbahce initially sold Guler to Real Madrid in the summer of 2023 for €20 million, along with over €10 million in potential bonuses. To date, they have already received €8 million in add-ons.

Taking the base fee into account, Guler has brought in a total of €28 million for Fenerbahce, a figure that could increase to approximately €30 million if he makes 25 more appearances for Madrid.

The agreement also includes a 20% sell-on clause, meaning Fenerbahçe will receive 20% of any future transfer fee should Guler transfer again.

In his 100 appearances for Real Madrid over the past two and a half years, the 21-year-old attacking midfielder has scored 15 goals and provided 23 assists, contributing to the team’s successes in La Liga, UEFA Champions League, Spanish Super Cup, UEFA Super Cup, and the FIFA Intercontinental Cup.
