West Bromwich Albion’s interim head coach, James Morrison, labeled his team’s 2-1 defeat against fellow relegation contenders Oxford United as “unacceptable.”
This loss marked an 11-game winless streak for the Baggies and came during a difficult week following the dismissal of head coach Eric Ramsay after just nine games at the helm.
Although West Brom sits just one point above the relegation zone, Oxford has narrowed the gap to just three points.
“It’s not acceptable,” Morrison told BBC WM. “I thought we started strongly in the first 15 minutes, but we failed to execute our game plan against the opposition.”
“The players need to take responsibility for their actions — we conceded two goals from just two balls into the box in the first half hour. How do you expect to win an away game like that?”
“When we got near the box, we lacked creativity and bravery. It’s extremely disappointing.”
