Why Milans Move for…

Milan’s pursuit of promising Corinthians player André has taken a surprising turn, transforming a straightforward deal into a potential legal dispute that may involve FIFA.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Rossoneri and the Brazilian club are caught in a tense dispute over the legitimacy of the transfer. Initially, it seemed that Milan had secured a deal for the young midfielder, agreeing to a total package worth €15M plus an additional €2M in bonuses. However, the situation has since deteriorated, threatening to derail the entire transfer.

The crux of the conflict lies in an internal power struggle at Corinthians. The club’s president, Osmar Stabile, has dramatically claimed that he never officially approved the transfer. This unexpected resistance from the leadership is attributed to manager Dorival Júnior, who has openly expressed his dissatisfaction with both the sale and the amount offered.

Despite the Brazilian president’s assertions, Milan stands firm. The Italian club contends that they have secured all required signatures on the official documents from Corinthians’ legal team, arguing that these approvals are binding regardless of the president’s changing position.

As both parties remain entrenched in their positions, the dispute is likely to escalate into a legal confrontation, with FIFA expected to step in to determine the validity of the contract.
