£60m Liverpool Signing Out for the Season Due to Major Injury Setback
This season has not been kind to Liverpool in terms of injuries. Players such as Conor Bradley, Alexander Isak, and Giovanni Leoni have faced significant long-term injuries, with Leoni suffering an ACL tear in his debut back in September.
Unfortunately, this trend has continued with their latest acquisition, Jeremy Jacquet. The defender from Rennes is set to join the Reds this summer in a deal valued at £60 million.
Jacquet sustained a serious shoulder injury during Rennes’ recent match against Lens, and according to Get Football News France, the 20-year-old will now require surgery.
The report suggests that the likelihood of him returning to action for Rennes this season is “extremely slim.”
As a result, Jacquet’s next opportunity to play may not be until the beginning of Liverpool’s pre-season.
This is far from an ideal scenario for everyone involved, as the young defender will miss out on five crucial months of experience before making his significant move to Anfield.

Looking Ahead
Liverpool will be eager for Jacquet to arrive for pre-season in peak physical condition. With Ibrahima Konate’s future uncertain, he could potentially partner Virgil van Dijk in defense next season.
Additional defensive signings are also anticipated for Liverpool this summer, but the £60 million investment in Jacquet clearly reflects the club’s confidence and ambition.
