Former Premier League striker Andy Cole praised Chelsea for their impressive performance in overcoming Championship side Wrexham after extra time to secure a spot in the FA Cup quarter-finals.
“It’s important to give Chelsea their due,” he remarked on BBC Radio 5 Live’s Football Daily podcast.

“There’s been a lot of discussion about their season, particularly with the recent managerial changes, but it was commendable for them to handle a tough match like that and come out on top.”
“Wrexham demonstrated their quality, really pushing Chelsea to the limit.”
“Ultimately, the Premier League experience made the difference in the end.”
“Making numerous changes is never straightforward, but I’m pleased for Liam [Rosenior] to secure the win as he prepares for a challenging Champions League tie.”
Cole, who briefly played with Rosenior at Fulham and knows his father Leroy from their time at Bristol City, praised Rosenior’s management style.

“Liam is a genuinely nice, intelligent young man,” Cole stated.
“I’m really proud of how far he has come. Taking on a position at a historic club like Chelsea, known for its frequent managerial changes, is not easy, but he appears to be steering things in the right direction.”
“He understands the challenges ahead, particularly in gaining acceptance from everyone, which may be tough, but if he keeps delivering results, criticism will be hard to come by.”
