FC Lorient is performing well in Ligue 1, and as Olivier Pantaloni’s team heads into the final stretch of the season, they do so with no worries about relegation. However, they have encountered a setback as they prepare for the finale.
Club captain Laurent Abergel, 33, suffered an injury during the midweek match. Les Merlus faced OGC Nice in the Coupe de France, where they were eliminated in a penalty shootout. On that night, Abergel also sustained a foot injury.

Ouest-France has reported that the midfielder, who was substituted just before the hour mark, is now facing an extended period on the bench. His recovery is expected to take around a month, causing him to miss the 1-1 draw with Lille OSC on Sunday. Abergel is anticipated to be sidelined for at least the next two matches.
In the best-to-worst scenarios, he could return for the game against Paris FC on April 5th. Currently, Lorient sits in 10th place in Ligue 1, a safe 15 points ahead of the relegation play-off zone.
