Torres confirmed that there is already an agreement with Real Madrid and that the club plans to exercise the option included in Martin’s loan contract.
“Mario Martin is definitely staying with us. He has been performing well, and we have an agreement with Real Madrid. We will activate the option,” he stated, as reported by Mundo Deportivo.
Impressive Performances at Getafe
Martin has had a successful season with Getafe thus far.
Since joining the squad last summer, he has made 27 appearances across all competitions, contributing four goals and one assist from his midfield position.

Importantly, Martin is a product of the Real Madrid youth academy, where he has been recognized as one of the club’s promising midfield talents.
He made his senior debut for Real Madrid in January 2023, coming on as a substitute in extra time during a Copa del Rey match against Atletico Madrid, which ended in a 3-1 victory at the Santiago Bernabeu.
To secure more regular playing time, Martin initially went on loan to Real Valladolid for one season in 2024 after the club’s relegation. He then transferred to Getafe on another loan, which has proven fruitful for both the player and the team.
As a result, Martin has become an integral part of Getafe’s midfield, demonstrating performances that have led the club’s management to believe he deserves a permanent position in the squad.
