Albion to Battle Until…

James Morrison, the interim head coach of West Bromwich Albion, has stated that the team is gearing up for a relegation battle that is expected to extend until the season’s final match.

Currently sitting at 23rd in the standings, the Baggies trail Leicester City in 21st by just one point and hold the second worst goal difference in the league, just ahead of the already relegated Sheffield Wednesday.

“We’re preparing to fight until the last game, although it would be fantastic if we can secure our safety before then,” Morrison mentioned.

“We must continue to work hard and fight until the final whistle blows at Sheffield.”

Having taken over after the dismissals of Ryan Mason and Eric Ramsay, Morrison has already implemented a tactical shift that proved effective during their recent 1-1 draw against Southampton.

The new 4-4-2 formation aims to “simplify things for the team,” according to Morrison.

He explained, “We rarely see two strikers on the pitch, and sometimes that allows defenders to become complacent. I want the opposing team to feel the strength and intensity we can bring.”

West Brom’s next challenge is against Hull City at the Hawthorns on Saturday at 15:00 GMT.
