Why Juventus Holds the…

In recent weeks, both Inter and Juventus have been targeting Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker. Juventus, in particular, believe they can meet the Brazilian’s salary expectations and are counting on Luciano Spalletti’s influence to sway his decision.

Juventus’s Optimism regarding the Alisson Becker Transfer

As the summer transfer window approaches, both Inter and Juventus are anticipated to seek new goalkeepers.

Inter is poised to let go of 37-year-old Yann Sommer when his contract expires at season’s end, while Juventus has expressed doubts about Michele Di Gregorio’s abilities, especially after he recently lost his position as the first-choice keeper.

It’s no surprise that both clubs have been considering similar candidates. Guglielmo Vicario is an option for both teams, along with Liverpool’s Alisson. Recent reports also suggest that Aston Villa’s Emiliano Martinez could be a viable target for Juventus.

Nevertheless, La Gazzetta dello Sport reported on Friday that Juventus regards Alisson as their most ‘reliable’ option.

Although Alisson’s current contract with Liverpool runs until the end of the 2026-27 season, Juventus is hopeful that the Premier League club may consider a transfer, particularly since Alisson will be facing the final year of his deal this summer. Juventus also has a potential replacement lined up in Giorgi Mamardashvili.

Juventus is also undeterred by Alisson’s salary requirements. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, he currently earns approximately €6 million per year at Anfield, which fits within Juventus’s salary framework.

Aside from Dusan Vlahovic, whose significant contract expires this summer, Juventus is aiming to keep the salaries of their players below €7 million annually, according to the same report.

Additionally, Spalletti’s presence could play a crucial role for Alisson, as he previously managed the Brazilian at Roma. La Gazzetta dello Sport notes that if Spalletti can persuade Alisson to join this summer, the negotiations with Liverpool could be more straightforward.
