Glasner on Munoz, Matetas…

Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner addressed the media ahead of Sunday’s Premier League match against Leeds United at Selhurst Park, with kick-off scheduled for 14:00.

Here are the main highlights from his press conference:

  • Glasner is “optimistic” that Daniel Munoz will be included in the squad on Sunday. He will be evaluated, and “if he can train fully with us on Saturday,” he will be part of the matchday lineup.

  • Regarding Jean-Philippe Mateta’s recovery from injury, Glasner said: “We have just one league game and one Conference League game this month. The plan is to reintegrate him and give him some minutes. After that, we have three weeks. I hope he gets called up by France, but considering his long injury layoff, it’s hard to see that happening right now.”

  • On the possibility of Mateta and Jorgen Strand Larsen playing together, Glasner commented: “Yes, we discussed it on the bench with my staff. Having two tall strikers offers us a good option, especially with their strengths in the box.”

  • When asked about the team’s ambitions for the rest of the season, Glasner stated: “We aim to collect as many points as possible. I always strive for more than the previous season. Whether we can achieve that is uncertain, but we will approach every match with the intent to win.”
