Arne Slot expressed his understanding of the frustration felt by the Anfield crowd following Liverpool’s draw against the struggling Tottenham in the Premier League, which was met with some boos from the fans.
The Reds conceded a late equalizer from Richarlison, marking the eighth time this season they have dropped points after the 90th minute, as Tottenham fought for their survival in the league.

Despite Tottenham’s six-match losing streak across all competitions, Liverpool couldn’t secure the win, with a lone goal from Dominik Szoboszlai through a first-half free kick.
Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher criticized the last season’s champions for “sleepwalking” into another costly draw in their race for the top five, a sentiment that Slot acknowledged as a recurring theme this year.
“It’s completely understandable,” said the Liverpool head coach in an interview with Sky Sports regarding the fans’ boos at full-time. “It’s normal for supporters to feel frustrated when their team repeatedly drops points in the dying moments of matches.”

Liverpool midfielder Szoboszlai, who cautioned the team to “wake up” or risk playing in the Conference League next season, acknowledged the subpar performance. “While I didn’t hear the boos, I understand them. Last season, we were champions, but our performances this season haven’t been up to par,” he stated.
“Our fans should back us now, especially when we’re facing tough times, just like they did when we were on top of the league last season.”
