Guardiola Could Be Set to…

Could Pep Guardiola potentially depart from Manchester City this summer? Former City keeper Shay Given thinks it’s a possibility.

Given expressed his thoughts on BBC Radio 5 Live’s Monday Night Club, stating, “I can’t shake the feeling based on recent months, particularly because he seems a bit worn out—similar to how Jurgen Klopp appeared at times.” This remark came after City’s Carabao Cup victory the day before.

“He hasn’t displayed his usual charisma lately, and it looks like coaching is becoming burdensome for him. This is just my perspective, but I sense he might step away in the summer,” Given continued.

“While there’s still the chance of winning additional trophies, it’s worth noting that he already has one trophy this season, which would mean he wouldn’t leave empty-handed if he chose to go. Perhaps that provides some relief for him too.”

“I hope I’m wrong about this, but it’s just the impression I have. He has reconstructed this team, so it could be time for him to hand over the reins to someone else.”
