In Thursday’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport, it was reported that Leeds United is up against stiff competition for Utrecht’s full-back Souffian El Karouani this summer. The Whites will reportedly have to contend with interest from Everton, Roma, and Olympique Marseille in their efforts to secure the Moroccan defender.

Regarded as one of the top left-backs in the Dutch Eredivisie, El Karouani could significantly bolster Leeds United’s lineup if they can clinch his signature at the end of the season.
With his current contract expiring this summer, the Premier League club could potentially sign him on a free transfer.

Should Leeds United Manager Daniel Farke Pursue El Karouani?
El Karouani is known for his solid tackling ability and his keen sense of awareness, which allows him to reclaim possession for his team effectively. He is also proactive in relieving defensive pressure while creating scoring opportunities for his teammates.

The Moroccan defender possesses a powerful long-range shot and is a skilled dribbler, making him versatile on the pitch. Primarily a left-back, he can also play as a left-sided wide player or even as a box-to-box midfielder if necessary.
Adding El Karouani to Leeds United could enhance the quality and depth of Daniel Farke’s defense. With his potential to compete for a first-team position in West Yorkshire, the 25-year-old could be an excellent asset for the club.
Given that he is still in his prime, pursuing El Karouani at the end of the season could be a smart move for Farke and the club.
