The United States Men’s National Team may be embarking on a long-term partnership with head coach Mauricio Pochettino.
Following a 5-2 defeat in a friendly match against Belgian football giants, the Argentine coach shared insights into the potential future with the Stars & Stripes.

As the nation gears up for the highly anticipated 2026 World Cup, Pochettino, who has previously been associated with a return to Tottenham, has expressed a willingness to continue in his current role.
“Who knows what will happen,” Pochettino commented ahead of the USMNT’s upcoming friendly against Portugal as they prepare for summer competitions.
“We are open to possibilities. We don’t have a contract for the future, but if we are content and the federation is satisfied, why not?”
“In football, you can never say never. Anything is possible,” he elaborated.
“I am really happy here. It is certainly challenging—perhaps more so than we anticipated when we arrived.”

“However, we are a coaching staff that thrives on challenges.”
The challenges are significant, as the US will also face Senegal and Germany before entering a World Cup group that includes Paraguay, Australia, and the winner of UEFA Path C, culminating in a match between Kosovo and Turkey tomorrow night.
