Peter Bosz has much to celebrate this week as the former head coach of Bayer Leverkusen secured his second consecutive title with PSV—achieving this victory well before the end of March. Nevertheless, Bosz understands the unpredictable nature of football. His experiences with Borussia Dortmund and Lyon have exposed him to the intense pressures faced by head coaches, prompting him to express empathy for Liverpool’s under-fire manager, Arne Slot.
In a conversation with VI, Bosz remarked, “At PSV, we win a lot, which often includes moments of luck. I can say that because I’ve experienced the opposite. Both victories and defeats weigh heavily on you. That’s why I can relate to Arne Slot’s behavior (during the match against Galatasaray). I also understand what Robin van Persie is facing at Feyenoord. Every coach endures a tough spell like that; it’s not easy.”

Slot was the last coach to overcome Bosz and PSV when he guided Feyenoord to the Eredivisie title in the 2022/2023 season. He secured a second-place finish the following season before his move to Liverpool, where he clinched the Premier League title in his inaugural season. However, this season has been challenging for Slot and his team, as Liverpool struggles to keep pace in the Premier League, with their main opportunity for silverware resting on the Champions League, where they are set to face a formidable PSG side.
