Pavard made the move back to his homeland last summer on loan from Inter, generating significant excitement as he was expected to add experience, leadership, and defensive solidity to a Marseille squad with serious goals.
However, his performance this season has consistently fallen short of expectations.
Reports from France, via FCInter1908, indicate that Pavard has not met the expected performance and attitude standards, becoming emblematic of the club’s frustrations this season.

Marseille No Longer Considering a Permanent Move for Pavard
The situation has worsened to the point where Marseille has ruled out a permanent transfer, even at a lower fee, despite having the option to negotiate a reduced buyout with Inter.
While the final decision may ultimately depend on the upcoming leadership at the club, the current trajectory is quite clear.
Pavard will return to Inter at the end of the season, where his future still needs to be determined.
With Inter already planning a major overhaul this summer, particularly in defense due to expected departures of several out-of-contract players, it remains uncertain how Pavard fits into Cristian Chivu’s plans, if at all.

Another loan move appears to be the most likely option, although attracting a club willing to take on a player whose reputation has diminished during his time in Ligue 1 may be more challenging than anticipated.
