It’s not wise to use Atalanta as a benchmark; they were a strong side that secured fourth place quickly, but the Champions League landscape is competitive. In a major club like Roma, success often follows naturally.”
On Malen’s performance, Gasperini stated: “You can’t always predict how a player will impact the game, but I was confident in his abilities. There are different types of center forwards, and I never doubted that he could showcase his potential centrally, rather than on the flanks.”

The coach also discussed his concerns following Pellegrini’s injury: “It’s a significant setback. He was performing well and was unfortunate with the post and the injury. It didn’t seem serious at first glance, but we’ll see. I’m hopeful that Wesley, Mancini, and Soulé can return to full fitness, as they are crucial to the team. Dybala’s availability for Saturday is uncertain.”
