Thuram Gained…

Marcus Thuram has acknowledged that scoring for France provided him with a much-needed ‘confidence boost’ that has reenergized his performance at Inter. However, he remains cautious, refusing to claim the Scudetto is secured even after their thrilling 4-3 win over Como.

It was an eventful night at the Stadio Sinigaglia, where Como surged ahead with a 2-0 lead thanks to goals from Alex Valle and Nico Paz just before the break.

However, Thuram and Denzel Dumfries each scored twice to flip the match in Inter’s favor, bringing the score to 4-2, although they had to withstand some late pressure following a penalty from Lucas Da Cunha.

“Scoring just before the break was crucial. It set the right tone for the second half,” Thuram shared with DAZN Italia.

After a challenging spell without goals, Thuram has found new vigor following his recent international goal for France, which marked his first since 2023.

“It was refreshing to have a change of scenery, but scoring for France really pumped up my confidence, which I’ve carried over to Inter. Did I really hit 10 goals? I usually reach that mark earlier in the season, but I’m glad I finally made it!”

With Napoli drawing 1-1 with Parma and Milan suffering a heavy defeat to Udinese, Inter now sits nine points clear at the top of the Serie A table with just six matches remaining.

“The ability to endure and respond as a team is a great indicator of our strength, and this victory is crucial for us. Nonetheless, until it’s mathematically secured, we can’t declare anything achieved yet,” emphasized Thuram.

Inter is set to face Como again on April 21 in the Coppa Italia semi-final, following a goalless first leg match last month.
