Man Utd Confronting…

Manchester United is grappling with a defensive shortage ahead of their upcoming match against Chelsea, with only one fully fit senior center-back available for the trip.

Head coach Michael Carrick will be missing Harry Maguire, Lisandro Martínez, and Matthijs de Ligt for the match at Stamford Bridge due to suspensions and injuries.

Leny Yoro, who has been a regular starter in recent matches, was notably absent from the squad that left for London on Friday.

If Yoro cannot participate, the 19-year-old Ayden Heaven will be the only available fit center-back for Carrick against Chelsea.

Heaven has not started a game since the 2-2 draw with Burnley back in January.

When approached by ESPN on Friday, United declined to comment on the status of Yoro.

Maguire is sidelined due to an additional one-game suspension after admitting to an FA charge for improper conduct following his red card against Bournemouth in March.

Martínez will be serving a three-game suspension as a result of being sent off for violent conduct during the 2-1 loss to Leeds United earlier this week.

In addition, De Ligt has not played since November due to a back injury.

Meanwhile, Kobbie Mainoo is set to return for the Chelsea match after missing the previous game against Leeds due to a minor injury.
