Everton manager David Moyes shared his thoughts with Sky Sports: “The players performed excellently today and deserved a better outcome. They put in a tremendous effort. While I’m disappointed with the final goal conceded, overall, I can’t fault their performance.”

Regarding the disallowed goal: “The match was quite chaotic. During that moment, I believed it was a legitimate goal, but we have faith in the officials to make the right decision. We aren’t here to make excuses; we should have taken more from this match.”

On Jarrad Branthwaite’s injury: “It doesn’t look promising, and it created difficulties since we had already used a couple of substitutions, leaving us with just one remaining. Jarrad was undoubtedly the standout player on the pitch today; he performed exceptionally well.”

On the defeat to Liverpool: “We played competitively and there’s no shame in our performance today; we faced a team that expects to compete for the Champions League and trophies. I think we gave them a strong challenge. I want this team to consistently display that level of competitiveness.”
