Man City in Talks with…

Manchester City is currently in talks with the Premier League about rescheduling two important fixtures that could significantly impact the title race.

Pep Guardiola’s team is set to move their away match against Bournemouth, which was originally planned for 17 May, due to their FA Cup final appearance the day before. Additionally, their home match against Crystal Palace, which was initially scheduled for March, is awaiting a confirmed date from the league.

All three clubs have been in communication with the Premier League regarding the dates for these matches.

It is reported that a date of 13 May has been suggested for Crystal Palace’s visit to City, while 19 May has been proposed for the trip to face Andoni Iraola‘s team. This arrangement would place the matches between the FA Cup final against Chelsea on 16 May and their final match of the season against Aston Villa on 24 May.

This scenario would result in City playing three matches in a week leading up to the final weekend of the season.

However, reports suggest that City is exploring alternative arrangements.

One possibility includes facing Bournemouth on 12 May and Crystal Palace on 19 May, providing an extra day of recovery before the Wembley finals. This adjustment would also allow City to conclude their league season with two home matches.

Due to UEFA’s scheduling preferences, certain dates are unavailable as the organization typically avoids having domestic league matches coincide with their tournaments.

The Premier League has yet to finalize the dates for City’s two league matches, but an announcement is expected shortly.

Arsenal will be closely monitoring the final decision as they seek to maintain their top position in the Premier League and aim for their first title in 22 years.
