Confirmed: Mo Salahs…

The Egyptian King is concluding a remarkable and trophy-filled tenure at Anfield.

Since joining from Roma in 2017, Salah has won every possible accolade with the Reds, amassing numerous individual awards throughout his journey.

As he departs, the 33-year-old leaves behind a legacy as a genuine club legend and, for many fans, the greatest player in Liverpool’s history.

Unfortunately, after sustaining a hamstring injury against Crystal Palace on Saturday, it appears that he may have already played his last game as a Red.

This isn’t how it was meant to unfold.

Liverpool Terminate Salah’s £400k Per Week Contract

Last season, as Salah was closing in on the Premier League title, the Golden Boot, the Playmaker Award, and the league’s Player of the Year honor, he signed a new contract with the club.

With his prior agreement set to expire in summer 2025, sporting director Richard Hughes negotiated a deal with the two-time African footballer of the year.

Salah signed a two-year extension, keeping him at the club until 2027 with a reported salary of £400k per week. However, that contract has unraveled following a disappointing season for both Salah and the team under Arne Slot.

He expressed frustration at being excluded from the starting lineup for a league match against Leeds, marking a low point in his relationship with the club.

Now that it seems Salah may not be part of the team’s future plans—given Slot’s decision to rotate him out of the lineup—a resolution concerning his costly contract was reached.

Salah’s Departure Request

Rather than remaining on the bench for another season and costing the club approximately £20m in wages, Salah’s contract was terminated a year early.

He is now free to seek a new club, and there will be no shortage of interest.

Paul Joyce from the Times has shed new light on Salah’s exit, revealing that it was SALAH who approached Liverpool about ending his contract, not the other way around.

“Salah’s contract was due to expire in 2027, but he initiated discussions with the club regarding terminating the deal this summer following a fallout with Slot, who had benched him for three consecutive games,” his report reads.

Salah is reportedly drawing interest from the Saudi Pro League, with clubs like Al-Qadsiah and Al-Ittihad eager to secure his services.

They are poised to pursue his signing following the FIFA World Cup this summer.
