Fernandes has already achieved a significant milestone this season, sitting just two assists shy of surpassing Thierry Henry and Kevin De Bruyne as joint-record holders.

The Portuguese international continues to be a pivotal figure at Old Trafford, forming a connection with another legendary player from Sir Alex Ferguson’s era.

He has now been directly involved in goals in seven consecutive Premier League matches for the Red Devils, matching the streak of Robin van Persie during the 2012/13 season when United claimed their 20th title.

Van Persie helped to restore dominance after Ferguson’s squad narrowly missed out to Manchester City on the final day of the previous season.
